Big 12 Championship Game

To be honest I was kind of hoping Missouri would pull off the upset against Oklahoma, but Oklahoma continued to roll putting up over 60 points yet again. Don’t get me wrong I think Oklahoma is the best team in the Big 12 and probably the best team in the nation right now besides Florida. But it just doesn’t feel right to me that Oklahoma jumped Texas despite a head to head loss with them. Yea I think Oklahoma is good enough to play for a national title I just don’t feel like they deserve to go over a team that has the same record as them and beat them head to head. I really hope it is Florida vs. Oklahoma in the title game though, because that could be one of the most exciting matchups there has been in recent memory, I guess we will find out soon what is going to happen you never know with the wacky BCS.

SEC Championship Games

I had looked forward to the Florida vs. Alabama game all week long and it didn’t disapoint at least not for me as I wanted the Gators to pull of the win. I hope they make it to the National Championship Game and I believe they should in my opinion they are the best team in the country. I have liked watching Florida for years now and unless UNC suddenly starts making title runs I will continue to pull for them. The game was pretty close and wasn’t decided until late. Coach Saban has done an excellent job at Alabama and I think they will be a force in the coming years, but this year was Florida’s year. After the Ole Miss loss Tebow and company have taken over the SEC by storm.

The Last Day of Class

My last day of class I actually got to sleep late which is the only friday all year I have gotten to do that. With no weights in the morning I slept till after nine o’clock and that was a pleasant change. My classes went by fairly quickly and then the rest of the day flew by. It really seems like I just started this semester and now it is over time flew by and I know that exams and Christmas break will be gone before I know it. It has just been that kind of year it almost has gone to fast although I am very ready for the break.

Busy end

Well I put off two of my biggest projects of the year to the last few days off the semester so I was extremely busy especially wednesday, thursday, and friday. I did manage to get it all done though so that was a good thing. I always seem to thrive on getting things done last minute and while I need to break that habit it has become a trend for me. The feeling I get when I get everything done is almost worth it. I guess I just like the adreanaline that comes with knowing you have to get something done I focus on what I have to do more. That being said I hope in my future college and life experiences I break that trend.

Anniversary Dinner

Saturday night I was dragged to my Aunt Julie and Uncle Bill’s twenty-fifth wedding anniversary dinner. It was a surprise party and although my uncle had found out about it earlier my aunt was very much surprised. It was a special time for them and I had fun because the food was really good, not to mention I saw a lot of family and friends. Again it is probably one of those things a lot of people wouldn’t find that fun, but I enjoyed myself and being with family is always important as I have learned especially so over the past year, because you never know when things might change.

Babysitting

Friday I had a fun day and while to some people it might not be very exciting I enjoyed it very much. Me and Ashley who I have posted on earlier went to my aunt and uncle’s to babysit their two boys. Matthew and Jake are their names and they are some of the coolest kids I have ever met. Matt is always smiling and at the end of the day my neck was sore from all the piggy-back rides I had given him. We ate pizza for lunch and decorated the Christmas tree. All in all the four of us had a very good time and I would be glad to do it again anytime. They always want to wrestle me which basically is me laying on the ground and letting them jump all over me.

Hospital Visit

Between meals on Thanksgiving I made my way to Charlotte with my dad to visit Joyce Melton in the hospital. Many people here at GWU know Joyce and my dad has often helped her out when she needed it. She was hit by a car a few weeks ago and after some blood clots she had to be taken to Charlotte for care. It was sad because she wasn’t like her normal self she couldn’t remember calling people and she was claiming that she couldn’t remember things like the date and I don’t think she even knew it was Thanksgiving. My dad was worried about her and talked to the nurses to make sure they knew this was not her normal behavior.

Turkey Day

On thursday, thanksgiving day I ate at both my grandparents. For lunch I ate at Maw Maw Jack’s who is my dad’s mom with my great-grandma and my two uncles and their families plus obviously my dad, two brothers, and Maw Maw Jack. We had basically a traditional dinner with turkey and all the fixings. Then at my mom’s mom’s house we mixed it up a little there was still great food, but instead of turkey we had ham and chicken stir fry.

Role Models

Sunday afternoon me, my older brother OJ, and my mom made a trip down to Gaffney to watch the movie Role Models. The movie was pretty funny. It was one of the better comedies I have seen in awhile and I am a big fan of stupid funny movies. The story had a point to it, but was also off the wall at times and I believe those are the best kind. I enjoyed watching it and would probably give it a nine out of ten. I would definately reccomend it to people who like comedies especially ones that are a little more for “mature” audiences.

Game of the Week

Ask almost any college football fan and they would tell you the biggest game of the week this week is #2Texas Tech vs. #5Oklahoma. It is scheduled to start at eight o’clock. My prediction is that Oklahoma will win this one pretty easily. The reasons I think this way is first off it is at Oklahoma and while TTU has had some huge wins this year they were at home. Under Coach Stoops OU is 59-2 at home and I figure it will be 60-2 after tonight. Oklahoma’s defense is strong enough to at least slow down TTU’s stout passing attack. I believe they will be able to get pressure on Graham Harrell. I am not knocking the season TTU has had and if they did win it wouldn’t hurt my feelings I am just saying what I think. I hope Florida wins out and is National Champions anyway so I really have no dog in the fight as most likely the outcome of this game won’t affect UF at least not in the long run.
